Tour Plan
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park via Mubende-Fort Portal
Meet your driver guide in Uganda, get briefed about your 8 days gorilla & chimpanzee safari tour. After, you will be transferred to Kibale National Park via Mubende-Kyenjojo-Mubende route and lunch be served to you at Fort Portal. Go check in at your lodge at Kibale National Park located in Western Uganda.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking, afternoon Bigodi Wetland walk, Kabarole district
Enjoy an early breakfast, after meet the park officials at Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for briefing on chimpanzee trekking rules. At 8:00am, the park guide assigned to you will accompany you on 2-4 hours of searching for chimpanzees and expect one hour to be with these our closest relatives while in the wild. This is the period when you will explore their daily behaviors, take pictures and a lot more, then walk back.
Get back for lunch and transfer to Bigodi Wetland a home to a good number of interesting primates. This wetland is rich in primates such as l’hoest monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, mangabeys, baboons and more.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park with scenic view of crater lakes en-route, a game drive in the afternoon
After a hefty breakfast, leave Kibale for Queen Elizabeth National Park 1-2 hours. Enjoy view of the scenic Crater Lakes en-route and proceed to check in at your lodge. You will proceed for an afternoon game drive or chill at your lodge.

Day 4: Game drive, boat cruise
Enjoy an early breakfast, after you will catch up with a morning game drive expected to take 2-3 hours in your 4x4 tourist vehicle with pop-up roof. Expect to come across a number of animals including antelopes, spotted hyenas, lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes and lots of birds. After drive back while still keeping an eye on the park’s wildlife and settle for lunch.
After, connect to Kazinga channel for a boat cruise 2-3 hours’ recreational experience in a luxurious boat. Enjoy view of diverse aquatic life including hippos, crocodiles, birds plus other wildlife and return to have a relaxed evening at the lodge.

Day 5: Bwindi National Park holiday.
Breakfast early morning, after, meet your driver guide for transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park located in Kabale, Southwestern Uganda. In a 4x4 drive vehicle, get the best view of the tree climbing lions plus other wildlife at Ishasha sector in the Southern side of Queen Elizabeth NP. Relaxation, dinner and overnight stay will be at the gorilla safari lodge you booked earlier.

Day 6: Gorilla trek, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Meet Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) official for pre-trek briefing and allocation of gorilla families. 20 guerilla groups are all open for tracking in Bwindi National Park alone and only one is visited by maximum of 8 guests each day. Gorilla treks are carried out while in the 4 regions of Bwindi, Rushaga, Buhoma, Nkuringo or Ruhija. The trek lasts for 2-6 hours before you find gorillas, and one hour is set for a magical encounter then you walk back to the lodge.
From Bwindi, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. This is where 29 islands are all dotted with the most popular ones being the Punishment & Upside-down islands. Hundreds of little birds also call Lake Bunyonyi a home, making it an ideal birding spot.

Day 7: Canoe ride to the Punishment Island
Set off for morning canoe trek/ride to the Punishment Island, an island where unmarried girls who got pregnant were abandoned from. It is among the 29 islands that make up Lake Bunyonyi and besides visit to the island, there is a chance to see several birds. The rest of the evening will be spent chilling or swimming/visit the Batwa/Bakiga community for a cultural experience.

Day 8: Transfer to Kigali via Kabale
After breakfast, exit your comfortable lodge and you will be transferred to Kigali through Kabale town, then Katuna border to Rwanda. Today marks the end of 8 days chimpanzee tour.
