10-day Uganda gorilla & chimpanzee experience introduces you to the leading primate destinations in the Pearl of Africa. You will visit Kibale National Park for chimpanzee habituation & Bigodi Wetland for primate/nature walk, Bwindi National Park for guided gorilla habituation. This exclusive Uganda safari also combines game safaris in savanna parks such as Queen Elizabeth National Park and Lake Mburo National Park, Western Uganda where you will enjoy sights of the big game and varied antelope families.

Tour Plan
Day 1: Welcome to Uganda & Travel to Kibale Forest National Park.
A warm greeting from your safari leader who will also brief you on this 10-day Uganda gorilla & chimpanzee experience. After, transfer from your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala to Kibale National Park, Western Uganda. It will be half day drive to Kibale, a home to 13 primate species, and 375 bird species, with your journey taking you via Mityana, Mubende to Fort Portal for lunch break. From Fort Portal, connect to Kibale Forest N/Park for relaxation and dinner at the lodge.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Habituation experience & Bigodi wetland Walk
Breakfast enjoyed early in the morning at your respective lodges in Kibale National Park. Leave your luxurious accommodation for briefing at Kanyanchu Visitor Centre where Kibale Park official will be met to give you highlight of chimpanzee habituation rules. At exactly 6:00am, you will leave the briefing point for actual chimpanzee habituation experience and this is expected to go for at least half day or full day. It will be full of learning more about chimpanzee behaviors, taking pictures and you get back to the lodge for relaxation.
For half day chimp habituation, you will have a chance to visit Bigodi Wetland, a rich swamp sanctuary where diversity of primates, birds can be spotted. The guided nature walk through Bigodi takes 2 hours and you get back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park & Night game drive.
Transfer from Kibale to Queen Elizabeth N. Park where unforgettable game safaris will be conducted. The distance between the two parks takes about 3 hours’ drive and you will settle at the wilderness lodge for lunch, relaxation. Later in the evening, meet the driver guide fully prepared for a night game drive. A night game at Queen Elizabeth NP will reward you with astonishing sights of nocturnal species especially hyenas, leopards, mongoose, nightjar birds, etc.

Day 4: Morning game drive & Afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel.
Day activities at Queen Elizabeth NP include game safari in the morning through Kasenyi Plains, a long game viewing track expected to take you 2-3 hours. In a 4x4 tourist vehicle with pop up roof, get the best of the park’s wildlife views including lions, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, hyenas, birds, warthogs and more.
Drive back to settle for lunch, and in the afternoon, set off for a 2pm boat safari on Kazinga channel, a long channel that connects the park’s two fresh water lakes- Lake Edward and Lake George. During the boat tour, enjoy incredible sights of hippos, crocodiles, aquatic birds and when you return, you have long evening of relaxation, dine and spend a night.

Day 5: Travel to Bwindi or Mgahinga National Park.
Leave Queen Elizabeth National Park after breakfast and check out of the lodge, drive to either Bwindi or Mgahinga to enjoy gorilla encounter. Connecting to these parks will include Ishasha short game drive to see tree climbing lions and bush lunch.

Day 6: Gorilla Tracking & Lake Bunyonyi.
Enjoy a hefty breakfast early in the morning, after, set off for a long day guided gorilla habituation experience. This will go for full day at Kutu gorilla family in Rushaga, the Southern sector of Bwindi also a region with the highest number of habituated gorilla families. Today’s gorilla habituation experience includes bush lunch and after, relaxation will be at the lodge.

Day 7: Canoe trek & Batwa experience.
Enjoy a hefty breakfast in the morning, and after, exit Bwindi for Lake Bunyonyi. This is Uganda’s deepest Lake, located in Kabale Southwestern side of the country and from Kampala, about 8 hours’ drive. You will undertake a boat ride to one of the islands and 29 of them are distributed in this water Lake alone including the most popular ones- the Punishment and Upside-down Islands. In the evening, walk to the Batwa pygmies’ communities for educative cultural experiences, entertainment and to enjoy stories told by elders.

Day 8: Travel to Lake Mburo, Game drive & Night game drive.
Begin your 6-7 hours’ drive to Lake Mburo National Park with scenic view of the hillside in Southwestern Uganda. Connect to the park and enjoy early lunch, and after, embark on a guided game drive through the savannas. This will have you exposed to numerous wildlife including zebras, giraffes, lion, leopards, birds and late in the evening, go enjoy a night game tour to most of the park’s nocturnal species like spotted hyenas, leopards, nightjar birds etc.

Day 9: Morning game drive & Afternoon game drive
A long day in Lake Mburo includes game safari through the sweeping savannas of Lake Mburo for 2-3 hours. Lake Mburo NP is endowed with zebra, impalas, eland, and other antelope families, birds which you will come across during today’s game drive in the morning. Later in the afternoon, go for a boat cruise 2-3 hours to encounter hippos, crocodiles and birds or continue with a game drive to look for more wildlife.

Day 10: Guided walk, Equator & Kampala.
A guided nature walk will be conducted at Lake Mburo National Park, a foot-walk experience to enjoy a close encounter of wildlife and interact with nature. Return to the lodge afterwards, and check out then proceed to the Equator crossing to perform water experiment at the two hemispheres that make up the earth, take pictures. Later, continue to your last location to be dropped at a hotel or airport for departure late in the night/evening.
