This gorilla trekking destination lies in the Northwestern Rwanda, geographically lying within the Virunga Conservation Area (VCA).
It is a home to 12 fully habituated gorilla families including Kwitonda, Umubano, Hirwa, Ugenda, Susa A, Titus, Pablo, Amahoro, etc, which you will be assigned to only one to visit in a group of 8 guests. Day 1: Travel from Kigali city/Airport to Volcanoes National Park
- Main destination: Volcano National Park.
- Accommodation: Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.

Kigali city tour: Meet and greet your driver guide from Rwanda after sumptuous breakfast at a hotel, and later, get briefed about your incredible 2-day gorilla trek in Rwanda. Start afterwards your Kigali city expedition, expected to go for 2 hours.
In Kigali, you will explore areas such as the Kigali genocide centre to give you highlights of what occurred during the 1994 Rwandan genocide that led to loss of over 800,000 people. Other areas will include local markets, craft shops and more, then you settle for a leisurely lunch. After lunch, begin your journey to Volcanoes National Park, located in Northwestern Rwanda and this will take from 2 to 3 hours, with scenic view of the countryside.
Day 2: Luxury Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes N/Park, Rwanda

Delicious breakfast served to you at a comfortable luxurious gorilla lodge, after, transfer to Kinigi to get briefed about gorilla trekking rules. Get assigned to one fully habituated gorilla group to track and park guide to lead you through your remarkable adventure.
Starting at 8:00am, hit the jungles of Volcanoes N/Park, a 160sq.kms gorilla safari park to see a family of massive mountain gorillas. Trekking with Volcanoes N/Park mountain gorillas takes from 2-6 hours and it includes a special 1 hour of a close interaction with these unique apes right in the wild. Founded in 1925, Volcanoes N/Park is also renowned as a research base where Dian Fossey settled to conduct her 18 years of researching about mountain gorillas.
After tracking mountain gorillas, settle in the jungles to enjoy some snacks/packed lunch and then return to briefing area to meet your driver guide. Transfer to your lodge to relax, and then check out ready to connect back to Kigali, and it marks the end of the 2-day gorilla trek in Rwanda.
