The 2 -day Uganda gorilla trek is a short Uganda tour introducing you into the lushly verdant Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to see mountain gorillas. This Uganda tour includes gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest where 459 of the world’s 1063 mountain gorillas all live.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a magnificent tropical forest park, featuring a lush Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Southwestern Uganda. Your luxury Uganda tour begins and ends in Kabale. There are 20 habituated gorilla families residing in the 4 regions in Bwindi: Nkuringo, Rushaga, Buhoma and Ruhija sectors.
Lying on altitudinal range of 1160m and 2607m, Bwindi is a fully established Uganda safari park, gazetted in 1991 and in 1994, it was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. More than 120 mammal species call Bwindi a home, inclusive of mountain gorillas, elephants, chimpanzees, baboons, antelopes; 360 bird species with over 23 endemic Albertine rift species, 200 butterfly species.

Tour Plan
Day 1: Kabale to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Start your day with a sumptuous breakfast in a hotel in Kabale, Southwestern Uganda and after, travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Check in at a comfortable gorilla safari lodge that was pre-booked by your safari expert Uganda Luxury Tours, relax and in the evening, go meet the Batwa pygmies (optional).
Batwa cultural walk will be done in the evening with company of an experienced local guide with rich knowledge about the Batwa traditions, cultures, lifestyles, practices and norms. The Batwa guide will give you a deep insight into how the Batwa managed to live as hunters and gatherers, then followed by amazing cultural dances and music performance. Next, you will return to your luxurious accommodation for evening relaxation and night stay in your respective Uganda gorilla safari accommodation in Bwindi National Park.

Day 2: Gorilla trek, departure.
Your life changing adventure, gorilla trekking in Bwindi starts early after breakfast and you will be transferred to the park offices for briefing (starts at 6:30am). Leave your comfortable lodge with packed lunch, enough bottled water and at lodge, you will be allocated one of the 20 gorilla families fully habituated in Bwindi.
At 8:00am when you are done with briefing, the park will accompany you for a trek expected to last 2-6 hours. Number of hours spent trekking will depend on the location of these special creatures. Once you have come across them, only one hour will be given for you to enjoy a magical encounter, observe different gorilla behaviors, body gestures and taking pictures.
The thrill of mountain gorilla encounter is indescribable and the trek comes with sightings of other species for keen visitors. Get back to be provided a gorilla certificate and then meet your driver guide to be transferred to the lodge to check out. Travel back to Kabale thereafter and this marks the end of 2-day Uganda gorilla trek.
